Wall Lights

Check out the height at which the wall lights will be installed. Make sure they are at a height that provides enough light without being too harsh or too dim. Find some of the general guidelines below that you can follow:

• Eye Level Rule:

In living spaces such as hallways, living rooms and bedrooms, a common guideline is to install the fitting at approximately eye level. This provides effective lighting and creates a pleasing atmosphere. For most people, this is around 60 – 66 inches (152 to 168cm) from the floor to the centre of the light fixture.

• Bedside Wall Lights:

In the bedrooms, specially for the fitting used as bedside reading lamps, it is advisable to mount them a bit above the level of the mattress and direct towards the reading area. This can be around 42 to 48 inches (107 to 122cm) above the floor.

• Artwork and Accent Lighting:

If you are using the fitting to highlight artwork or other features, the height may vary based on the specific location and size of the items. Experiment with different heights to find the most appealing arrangement.

• Staircase Wall Lights:

For wall lamps along staircases, consider to install them at a height that ensures safe lighting of the steps. This might involve mounting them a bit higher than eye level, depending on the staircase design.
